This is how high off the ground my feeders are ,bout 12ft.. Trees close by even overhanging limbs..

This is one of the houses they use....

That’s neat raquett! I have only seen them during the day when we have replaced roofing on my neighbors barn. They’re very cool.

We have some feeders up high in some of our trees, but the birds don’t seem to take to them. My dog actually got a flying squirrel a few weeks ago at 11pm under one of our feeders when I let him out at night. Now I make sure to check before I let the dog out, but I bet the squirrels are the reason we haven’t seen birds in them yet.

Come on spring...

Do you have a rope and pulley on it, like a flagpole?
How do you fill it?

 :D

Think I'll try putting a couple houses up high and see what happens. My guess is the red squirrels will move in. I trap and transport half a dozen every year. If I don't they dig up my gardens and plant sunflower seeds everywhere. They steal my tomatoes too.......little buggers.

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Love squirrel stew.
But you need more of the rats when you are using reds Bob.

I'm sure you have a Crossman pump.  Right?

Squirrel hunting was always my favorite fall past time. Squirrel stew one of my favorites. I haven't hunted in years, so, now I trap them and take them for a ride to the park.

Same here, but I don't provide uber service to tree rats.

I used to have a chipmonk problem. A couple years of trapping and they seem to have disappeared. There's a Coopers Hawk that hangs around our back yard park. I've seen it take grey squirrels before. The reds might be a little too fast for it.

I know it’s still “work” Raquette, but that looks awesome. I took some classes in college for greenhouse mgmt, and always enjoyed this time of year when I was in the industry. Lots of work, but it has its rewards too.

Does that mean at some point you were paid to fish?
