kept 40 in about 2.5 hours and threw a bunch back could of stayed and caught more, but that was enough for today

Does anyone use bite alarms for shore fishing? I was thinking of having them on so I can also do a little casting on another rod.

We use clip on bells for catfishing.
The bullhead fishing I have done is typically too fast and furious to require the bells.
But as always, YMMV.

agreed on the bullheads, when it's on you don't have time to deal with one.

I was thinking of when I shore fish for bows, landlocks, catfish, etc. I have used bells as well, but at times I don't hear them as well as I used to. The alarms have little LED lights too, would be good at night. Just wondering if anyone had any they could reccomend, and what their experiences were.

I use these when river fishing at night.. I attach aligator clips and attach ans remove as needed..

Thats different boondox

If you want noise add a bell .. they shut off if no movement and turn on when the rod throbs under a load from a fish.. they also kinda twinkle so there noticed.. water proof and  take triple "a" batteries .. not those expensive watch batteries either common findable batteries..

Just picked up a couple dozen crawlers after the rain. Hopefully those browns will be hungry in the AM before winter returns.  :-\

Fishy, Fishy in the lake, please come here and take my bait. I troll and jig you take my hook, and then I take you home to cook.

Yup, they would not commit to the shiners, but gobbled up the crawlers.
