Title: MXFisher's fishing pics (Pounded the big pike!!!!Page 8 9/22)
Post by: MXFisher on May 11, 2006, 04:19 PM
Well I've been writing in a journal, but have realized that I have a lot more pics, so I start a thread over here.

It's Thursday and Pike season has been open for 6 days now. Today is the second day of fishing that I'm going to miss. The season has been good so far and heres some pictures to prove it.

Opening day I headed to Conesus solo. Nobody would go because they said it was cold and windy, the girl thingies missed out.

First Conesus bass of the year, a nice well feed specimen:

(https://www.myfishfinder.com/fishing_forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi42.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe348%2Fmxfisher656%2F81758f30.jpg&hash=88cce41a1bf7744bdd7895e5033a96c9)

1ST: Conesus pike of the year, a 24" with a beer gut!!!

Shortly there after I upped the auntie a little to a 27"

(https://www.myfishfinder.com/fishing_forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi42.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe348%2Fmxfisher656%2Fopeningday0627conesus.jpg&hash=1d00798ae1473f8acb51d702b6f3fc5d)

Also caught 2 smaller pike, another bass, and one HUGE bullhead that took a 6" plus stickbait in the middle of the day.

Sunday I headed out to my favorite pike creek for some quiet fishing with KC, we didn't get anything to big but had fun. It was MINT out and it was time to break out the grill. The highlight or (low light for me) of the day was when I tried to help KC unhook a hammer handle he caught I took a brand new treble hook to the web of skin between my thumb and index finger. It went in and out and it f@##in hurt. After a quick session of self surgery I was medicting myself and back fishing. Note to self be careful when unhooking pike that are flopping around like crazy.

1ST pike of the year at the creek.

(https://www.myfishfinder.com/fishing_forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi42.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe348%2Fmxfisher656%2F38d88a66.jpg&hash=db50721ec5c885ceaad4848f28ef73cd)

A nice spot to stop and grill.

(https://www.myfishfinder.com/fishing_forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi42.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe348%2Fmxfisher656%2Fa5f40730.jpg&hash=f9ee6be7bf64cb457b832f6f55419c9d)

Some nice grilled flesh for 2 hungry fisherman

(https://www.myfishfinder.com/fishing_forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi42.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe348%2Fmxfisher656%2Fab3e848a.jpg&hash=ce23a5ee560ecfc86815c6231ee61b99)

I skipped fishing Monday to prepare for an all day adventure to Conesus on Tuesday. Man was it worth it. Weather was great, 80's sunny and the lake was like glass with very few boats out.

KC started the morning out right with this 30" but he needs to learn how to hold a fish

(https://www.myfishfinder.com/fishing_forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi42.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe348%2Fmxfisher656%2Fkc305-9-06conesus.jpg&hash=63960d3fd15436d03b3e407f6618a528)

Same fish better pic.

(https://www.myfishfinder.com/fishing_forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi42.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe348%2Fmxfisher656%2Fkcs30.jpg&hash=4e7131653d8455f675a3bb5d117f0791)

My first of the day a respectable 24"

(https://www.myfishfinder.com/fishing_forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi42.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe348%2Fmxfisher656%2Fof24conesus5-9-06edited.jpg&hash=3a47d5c349a7177f0ab82ffb0b06f522)

After stopping in and cooking lunch we were back at it and I hooked in to this slob, 35" but I didn't have a scale to weigh it.

(https://www.myfishfinder.com/fishing_forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi42.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe348%2Fmxfisher656%2F35inchesconesus5-9-06edited.jpg&hash=486d2a4f5a1d1ce05d7ad99f86883b8f)

Not to long before we left me and KC pulled a double with KC getting the larger of the two so I got stuck taking the pic ;D

29"
(https://www.myfishfinder.com/fishing_forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi42.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe348%2Fmxfisher656%2Fkc29double5-9-06conesus.jpg&hash=b69b947d9d500f6021bacfdf33054610)

We ended up boating 7 pike, lost a few more to hook spitters and short strikes. Awesome day though.
Went back to my favorite pike creek Wednesday night, water was in worse shape then sunday, went 1 for 2 with a hammer handle in the boat and another injury. This time I got pike teeth to the hand and it bleed worse than the hook on sunday!!!!

All fish pictured above and caught were released.

Watch out Maine team NY is coming!!!!

I'm sorry but due to lurkers and  ;D bergall's  ;D I had to edit some pics.

It looks like you're putting the hurt on them already...

Have you thrown that X-Rap yet?

Yes I have tossed the x-rap. Awesome action (1st time using one), but I didn't get anything on it. The color scheme that has been working for me is quite different than the X-Rap you hooked me up with. ;) No worries though it will swim again and I bet it's only a matter time before it produces.

MXF, I love the X-Raps.  I have used the original size, and the new smaller size.  Great action.  They really slam it when it sits there.  I cast and troll with it...

Fished the avon angler's tournament on Conesus Friday night. Here's a pic of the fish I brought to weigh in. They were 31" and 29" long total weight of 12.5 with a 6.5 and 6 pounder. One more fish would have been a big help. I was last of the people who weighed in but almost all others weighed 3 fish I only had a pair. I also fished solo, verus teams of two. I also caught 2 throw back pike and 1 walleye. The eye was border line so I tossed him back as well

After last weekends success at Conesus catching my first eye, I couldn't wait to get back. Last night Oakorchardfishking and myself headed out in my boat for an evening of fishing. I was a fun night with a VERY mixed bag of fish coming in the boat. I got to the lake early, headed out and fished while waiting for oak to arrive. I managed one hammer handle pike and a large bullhead before he arrived. After he arrived we begin fishing for eyes. The daylight trolling produced a few blue gills and a bass. Now I think about it thats 4 species in the boat but were missing the most important one. We decide to stop and cast for a while thats when Oak got a nice slam and had a fight on his hand. He managed to boat a very nice pike on 6lb test  w/o a leader and a light weight rod. It was a fight for sure.

Oak and his pike:
(https://www.myfishfinder.com/fishing_forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi42.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe348%2Fmxfisher656%2FOAKSPIKE.jpg&hash=7cb94a530f7fafd4549cf8e94b128c1a)

After dark we went back to trolling and after trolling for a while, it was getting late so we trolled in the direction of the boat launch. All of a sudden BAM, I'm hooked in to a fish. It did take a minute to realize it was a fish, we thought it may have been weeds but the drag told a different story. Here a few pics of my 1ST ever keeper eye!!

(https://www.myfishfinder.com/fishing_forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi42.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe348%2Fmxfisher656%2Fdc878b2b.jpg&hash=e0f3757e6891ad85e9f7c1dfb1ee2de6)

(Mike your right I need some shades) 8)

Now we're pumped up, theres no way we can leave with out taking another pass though the same area. So we troll out and back in. As we get to just about the same spot BAM, I hook up with another one!!! This time we knew it was a fish right away. Here few pics of my 2ND keeper eye!!

(https://www.myfishfinder.com/fishing_forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi42.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe348%2Fmxfisher656%2F2NDEYEOFTHENIGHT.jpg&hash=2f5ca59482fb62e88c5e4b03566b5e2f)

We trolled around the area for a little while longer with no more luck but hey no complaints here. It was fun and good to fish with Oak. I had meet him once ice fishing but we only chatted for a little while that day. Yogi don't forget I owe you one. Thanks again.

Just a little extra proof that it really was 2 fish!!!

Nice pics and narrative MX!
It was definitely a good night for sure. (Although I was a little worried in the beginning when all we were catching was the bluegill and bass!)
It was a pleasure to fish with MXFISHER and Im looking forward to doing again! (We will definitely have to go next week and put on the pressure!)
I also want to state that for shallow trolling, I do not like the X-RAP lures. They may be better for a little deeper of water when trolling, but my problem was that I like to read my rod tip and with the severe action of these lures you cannot accomplish that! (not on light tackle anyways!)
However, I used it for casting and that is what the Pike nailed! (6lb. test and no leader and the Pike was hooked by the middle body hook too I believe!  ;D )
Also... alot of reports have been circulating that one particular color Rapala has been working good this year. For those of you that read alot, you know which color that is... Well, it produced for these walleye as well! (Bad news is, Rapala is discontinuing this lure as of next year!  :-\  Stock up on them!

Thanks alot for the good night out MX... I had a good time!  Glad that my spot produced for you... and dont forget to try the walleye cheeks too!
PEACE!

Fished Lake LeRoy sunday, it was a good day on the water, though we were pike and crappie fishing the bass would not stay away. I went with Jeremy in his boat we got 10 pike and over 10 bass and about 30 nice crappie. 3 of the pike were caught by Jeremy jigging for crappie on 4 lbs test!!! Two more of my friends were there and Fuzz hooked a HUGE bass. We could hear him yelling so we went over to see what was up. We weighed it with 2 different scales it was over 6 pounds on both. Didn't take a ton of pictures, the fishing was fast and furious, doubles all day long. Here a quick few.

Jeremy with a beautifully colored pike caught on 4 lbs test and a crappie tube:

Fuzz with the 6 plus pound slob:

Another of the BIG BASS:

All fished were released except for the crappie. I'm going to go chase that bass once the season opens and hopefully he will be posted under the tourney section!!!

LOL... Ancient chinese secret!  ;)

Im not much of a bass fan, but that is a definite slob!
Keep that haunt going and you might get a couple nice pics for the online tourney for sure! GO TEAM NY!!!

We gotta go go back to that spot on Conesus and try to find what had my rod bent in half and the reel screaming... That would add some points to TEAM NY Im sure too...lol  Still bummin' about that loss, but thats why they call it fishing and not catching I guess...lol

Well I've all but forgot about my journal and haven't posted any pics in a while. I have been fishing alot though with a decent amount of success, nothing amazing but good fishing all around. Been chasing everything from eyes to bass, though the eyes have been tough lately for me and Oak. Here's a few pics from the last couple of weeks.

Here's a pike I caught in my favorite pike creek, by no means is this fish huge but when you consider the body of water it's very respectable  measured at about 29".
(https://www.myfishfinder.com/fishing_forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi42.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe348%2Fmxfisher656%2F100_0031.jpg&hash=6e454b5a5dece8d821a388e2b707d440)

A picture of the "pike creek", this is one of those places you fish to get out there and avoid people, not because your hoping to catch a slob (though it is possible)
(https://www.myfishfinder.com/fishing_forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi42.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe348%2Fmxfisher656%2F100_0012.jpg&hash=a403e851577f8b205c6bd082ee3faa2f)

Here are a few nice bass that Troll and myself caught on a recent trip to lake LeRoy.

Troll

MX
(https://www.myfishfinder.com/fishing_forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi42.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe348%2Fmxfisher656%2F100_0050.jpg&hash=ed641be1689c93f2802b0f01d05ce642)

(https://www.myfishfinder.com/fishing_forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi42.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe348%2Fmxfisher656%2F100_0048.jpg&hash=c68e3e91b1d238bb4d6939b19da355e3)

Though the three fish I have pics of were about the same size this one is entered in the tourney
(https://www.myfishfinder.com/fishing_forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi42.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe348%2Fmxfisher656%2F100_0045.jpg&hash=0b2d476d354aff5b7853a073d8303f8f)

Last but not least here's one of two 28" pike I caught in Conesus this past weekend, any ideas on the wound and what caused it? I don't think there eels in Conesus.

That's one snaggy looking creek.  Gotta be some big bass in there too.  I don't think I've ever caught pike in a creek other than dipnetting them in the spring out in Michigan when I was a kid.  Sorry to hear those walleyes are giving you guys trouble >:(  I'll come out and straighten em out for ya.  ;D

There's not as many bass as you would think, though they are in there. Lots of pike, just lots of little ones. I've used 5 inch long stickbaits and caught 6-7" pike in there before. Next time I do I take a pic, it funny looking.

Well being 4th of July weekend, I fished my favorite pike creek to avoid the crowds and the wind. Turned out to be a good decision as mother nature surprised me. As I mentioned earlier in this thread I fish there to get away, not because there's huge fish in there.....I was wrong!!!! I caught the 29" (posted earlier) a few weeks ago and was thinking that was about as big as they get in there. Then I had this 32" slam my rogue!!! Yeah the fight was on, he made two runs under the boat which really worried me, I was in less than 3FOW, but Troll managed to put a good net on him and was able to CPR the fish with no problem. In the two trips we made out there we got a total of 6 pike and a nice 2.5-3lbs bass. 1st bass out of there this year!!! Anyway heres the pics and remember never under estimate mother nature!!!

Note: the line hanging off the fish is just a scrap piece of line that was lying in the boat, it stuck to his face, it's not attached to my bait

Way to go MX.... Another great suprise from Mother Nature!
I have heard there are SOME slobs in there!
I was in a local tackle shop one day and some guys we were talking to were heading over there!
They said the do really well on #'s for Pike, but limited on the big boys... Assured me (with pics) though that he has pulled out a few topping 40 inches!

Nice catch my friend! ;)

Last Friday Devil-man and myself joined Gambell and his friend Mark for some King salmon fishing on Lake Ontario. I had an awesome time, good weather, good people and some nice fish were caught. Let me tell you what Gambell does not mess around, he had his game face on. There is only one reason for his boat........FISHING!!! Thats the way it's supposed to be. Anyway we left out of I-bay at about 5:30am and returned after 1:00pm. Heres a  few pics of the adventure.

Sunrise on Lake O with another boat approaching
(https://www.myfishfinder.com/fishing_forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi42.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe348%2Fmxfisher656%2Fsunriseandship.jpg&hash=6696ae7a767fa6ebf4b721ae3335c603)

Once he got closer I could see they weren't fishing ;)
(https://www.myfishfinder.com/fishing_forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi42.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe348%2Fmxfisher656%2Flargeship1.jpg&hash=c2f8177bcdce8857ddb99cb86970510a)

I was up first and around 6:35 we hooked in to this 23.5 pounder, just a hair over 37" long. I was pumped.
(https://www.myfishfinder.com/fishing_forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi42.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe348%2Fmxfisher656%2F1stonthelake.jpg&hash=a35dc4fc023cf12d09a44e78776b4426)

Devil man was next on the rod, I don't think it was the fish he was hoping for but a fish none the less.
(https://www.myfishfinder.com/fishing_forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi42.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe348%2Fmxfisher656%2Fdmanfish.jpg&hash=111890f74b0eb77eb8655b7d6ce26ce1)

The next rod that popped went to Gambell's friend Mark, a nice 19 pounder
(https://www.myfishfinder.com/fishing_forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi42.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe348%2Fmxfisher656%2Fmarkfish.jpg&hash=3991dac01c9c4bb4724cbda7da85d748)

Gambell getting ready to run the net for Mark

Gambell got the next fish, a 16 pounder, no pic, and I was up next. The same rod as the first fish I caught went off again, right next to me. I grabbed it set the hook and it was on!! I was REALLY lucky that day as this was another big fish 21 pounds, just under 37".
(https://www.myfishfinder.com/fishing_forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi42.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe348%2Fmxfisher656%2F2ndonthelake.jpg&hash=42c2fb4927e8f3ec30acb013c6ce7d02)

Devil-man, MXFisher, and Gambell (L to R) back at the dock with the days catch.

Well I didn't think I was going to get out fishing this past weekend as my parents were in town form ATL, but I conviced my Dad to go out fishing for a few hours Saturday evening. We left for Lake LeRoy around 6:00pm, it was overcast and drizzling. Turned out to be a good trip, the wind never died down but the rain did and we stayed dry for the most part. The water was extremely muddy from the heavy rains we had in the morning. I decided to give my Dad my "Go To" lure for Lake LeRoy. Spinnerbaits always are a good choice in those conditions ;). I fished top water with a few strikes but no hook ups my Dad had better luck, getting two nice fish in the boat and he had a few more hits that got away. Both fish he caught fought like champs, they both jumped real close to the boat, which is odd, pike usually head deep, this guy headed for the sky!!!! The bass jumped so close to me I could have reached out and touched it. Anyway heres the pics from one of the best trips I had all year and what will most likely be my Dad's only trip out all year.

First fish of the day a nice pike in the 26"-28" range
(https://www.myfishfinder.com/fishing_forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi42.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe348%2Fmxfisher656%2F100_0178.jpg&hash=39af07fed40cc94095cf1774d495d150)

Second fish of the day, a slob of a bass, measure a little over 20", not sure of the weight, my guess 4-5 pounds :thumbup_smilie:

Well I headed out to Lake LeRoy with my friend Lou last night in the sweltering heat. It was hot!! Troll came out in his boat and Jeremy and Casey came out in Jeremy's boat. It was a tough night, everyone had problems hooking up. The fish were hitting but we just couldn't keep them on the hook. I can't remember losing so many fish in one day in quite some time. Jeremy and Casey did the best on quantity boating 4 bass and 1 pike, Lou and I did the best on quality with each of us getting a 4+ pounder, Troll got one in the boat. It was a strange night though, I managed to lose 2 lures on one cast, which is a first. Lou had a monster pike come up and jump out of the water at the boat to get his lure!!! He fought it for a while but it also spit the hook. It made a few passes by the boat, I really would have liked to have seen it out of the water. Maybe next time.

The coolest thing that happened all night was on the way home about a mile down the road, we saw something in the left lane, I slowed down to about 40 and when we got right up to it we could clearly see it was a large owl picking something up!!! He quickly flew in to the darkness. It was an awesome sight and I was really close, we were next to it before it took off!!!!

Anyway here's the pic.

Lou's second cast of the day, man I thought we were going to kill'em

The fish I finally boated, I was starting to think I was going to get skunked

dan, did you catch that fish after a "break" ???
Title: Re: MXFisher's fishing pics (New pics and short story pg 5)
Post by: MXFisher on Aug 04, 2006, 11:33 AM
Arch no break, it was unreal hot, and I was turning in to a raisin in the sun. I consumed a ton of water and Gatorade and was sweating it out as fast as I could drink it.

As for the 2 lures on one cast:
I had two baitcaster's set up the one I was using had a buzzbait on it, the other had a brand new T1 terminator spinner bait ($7..in case you wondered) The rod I wasn't using was laying next to me with the lure hang over the water. On the back swing of my cast with the buzzbait, I snagged either the other lure or line. On the forward swing both line broke, one lure dropped in the water 1ft out the back of the boat, the buzzbait went on a nice high arc and landed about 50 yards away. I proceded to swear..........

It happened so fast it took a few second to realize what happened, I wasn't happy. In the last two trips, me, devil-man, and my friend lou tossed 9 lures for a grand total of about $30-40 in the lake.

Well as some of you know I went to Black lake for a nice but short vacation. We left early Saturday morning and returned on Tuesday evening. It was a blast, though the fishing could have been better fun was had by all. I think between the sunny, hot, high pressure weather and us being first timers on the lake contributed to the lack of big fish though lots were caught most were small. 7 species were caught which makes it exciting but we didn't get any of the coveted walleye :-\ We stayed on a part of the lake called Rollaway bay, in a nice 2 story cottage with a mint deck over looking the water. There was also a boat launch and a dock for us to use so the boat went in on Saturday and stayed in till Tuesday which made life easy. Anyway I can ramble on but I guess I will let the pictures do the talking......Well there one little story below.

Here's a nice shot of the cottage from the water, note the 2nd story deck!!! Many beers were consumed up there!!
(https://www.myfishfinder.com/fishing_forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi42.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe348%2Fmxfisher656%2Fcottagefromthewater.jpg&hash=3ca4583582c7cec6755d9caa29ecc04b)

Next is a nice shot from the deck, you can see my boat in the bottom of the pic tied to the dock.
(https://www.myfishfinder.com/fishing_forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi42.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe348%2Fmxfisher656%2Fdaytimedeckview.jpg&hash=cbcdbcbe10b1f2dff87c357bbc6397df)

Here's my friend Damon with his first fish of the trip, he was happy.....
(https://www.myfishfinder.com/fishing_forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi42.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe348%2Fmxfisher656%2Fdamonsfirstfish.jpg&hash=68dc7460b712337a5af1569836d0db22)

Here's Tom with the big fish of the trip, it was a surprise to see a catfish. Let me tell you what, this guy put up a serious fight!!!
(https://www.myfishfinder.com/fishing_forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi42.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe348%2Fmxfisher656%2Ftomcat.jpg&hash=3c9726904b5d4b20282eb91cf393ae04)

Next here's proof that I did catch a fish. A nice perch. I was waiting for a SMB or LMB worth taking a pic of. It never came. We did catch a bunch of smaller size fish, SMB are ALWAYS fun. Jumping like crazy!! We did lose one nice SMB at the boat that was very picture worthy but we didn't seal the deal.
(https://www.myfishfinder.com/fishing_forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi42.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe348%2Fmxfisher656%2Fmxfisherproof.jpg&hash=3a134595a42c7e8b9048141c8049a56f)

Well the other story I have from this trip will be told for YEARS to come. When was the last time any of you towed a plane with your boat!!!! We watched this guy doing "touch and go's" for maybe 5 minutes near us. I was clicking a few pics, it was pretty cool. Next thing you know something happened and there we parts of the plane in the water and the plane was tipped over on one wing!!! We were close enough that we went over and picked up the pontoon that had been ripped of the wing. As I'm grabbing it out of the water I notice thats there's duct tape....Yes I said DUCT TAPE at the top of it where it is supposed to attach to the wing!! I couldn't help but laugh (the beer helped as well ;D) I trolled over to the pilot and he says how he was just out testing some repairs thats why he was doing touch and go's. I couldn't help myself I said "Well I guess the duct tape didn't hold!!!" He was a good sport about it, I guess he didn't have a choice and we had to tow him back to his dock. We got the camera out once we were towing him and he says "your not going to put those on the internet are you?" my response....."Oh yeah they WILL be online" Here's the pics.

Would you get in a plane that was duct taped together...................................Me either!

(https://www.myfishfinder.com/fishing_forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi42.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe348%2Fmxfisher656%2Fplane1.jpg&hash=2a3d3f78c2b9d3ff3a558d7c7e405490)

Towing him back, Tom enjoying a beer between duct tape jokes, MXfisher at the controls.
(https://www.myfishfinder.com/fishing_forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi42.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe348%2Fmxfisher656%2Fplane2.jpg&hash=c747f129fc9206857735cc2080a6fd63)

Last but not least a nice sunset from the deck. What a trip!!!! I will be going back, hopefully in the fall, if not ice season (maybe both?!?!?)

Looks like you had a great couple of days. I've stayed on Rollaway a couple times. Looking out over your dock, we stayed to the right on the finger of water that goes in behind Bell Island. We always started our troll from Bell Island across the bay and continued down the shoreline in 10 - 12 FOW. Have caught a few eyes, bass and pike just off the point with the pines that you can see in the pic showing your boat. The airplane experience is more than cool.

Well, I went on a bit of a fishing bender starting last Sunday and ending on Thursday. Though it was a short one it was productive. ;) I got to fish my three favorite spots (Conesus lake, Lake LeRoy, and my pike creek) at least once each! It looks like things are really starting to switch gear in to more of a fall pattern even though it's still the end of August :thumbup_smilie: I'm really looking forward to getting back out there and doing some fishing though it may be tough. I broke a few ribs this weekend and have a severe hematoma on me left thigh :'(. Hopefully once I'm back to work I will be able to "tough it out" on the water. Here's a few pics to tell the story of last week..

Started out Sunday with a solo trip to my pike creek. Boated a nice 27"er
(https://www.myfishfinder.com/fishing_forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi42.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe348%2Fmxfisher656%2Fmxfisherpike.jpg&hash=0c9232b9ce33f1e1804e2b67d1d9d466)

Then the real aggressive fish started showing up! It still suprises me when I catch them, though it seems to happen each year.

(https://www.myfishfinder.com/fishing_forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi42.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe348%2Fmxfisher656%2Fmeanbass.jpg&hash=ce2caed8c0efde333ccb6c6860c24665)

Hey I said AGGRESSIVE not HUGE

Troll and myself headed out to Lake LeRoy for one of the last trips ever. It was worth the pass and some decent fish were caught. Here's a few.

Troll with a bass
(https://www.myfishfinder.com/fishing_forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi42.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe348%2Fmxfisher656%2Ftrollbass.jpg&hash=482ec160a856fb2d34cc04a60d2b2ac0)

MXFisher with a couple of nice ones
(https://www.myfishfinder.com/fishing_forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi42.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe348%2Fmxfisher656%2Fmxfisherbass2.jpg&hash=ef56021154d9c88f28f3c273f19d98bd)

A little bigger, just under 5 lbs.
(https://www.myfishfinder.com/fishing_forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi42.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe348%2Fmxfisher656%2Fmxfisherbass1.jpg&hash=c00c255efe28f4c92135a3f5c955c63f)

Troll and myself headed back to the pike creek for some more fishing. It went well, though a lot of fish were spitting the hook. There was plenty of action though ;)

Troll with a nice pike
(https://www.myfishfinder.com/fishing_forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi42.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe348%2Fmxfisher656%2Ftrollpike.jpg&hash=66db560e6e2b490e324f0648b29b442a)

While we were fishing we noticed a vistor had shown up. We usually see them this time of the year and have thought there were more than one. You never know until you see them together though. I've heard them called a few different names but I have always referred to them as "white herons". Anyone know for sure what they are called?

Saw this one first
(https://www.myfishfinder.com/fishing_forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi42.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe348%2Fmxfisher656%2Fonewhiteheron.jpg&hash=924f27302d4dd54782b34ff9deae2c54)

A short time later another one showed up. We went in for a better shot at them and this is the best shot I got. My camera isn't the greatest, especially at longer shots.
(https://www.myfishfinder.com/fishing_forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi42.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe348%2Fmxfisher656%2Ftwowhiteherons.jpg&hash=faeca4bae4f7a60d5bea5583e76a153f)

As for my trip to Conesus lake, it went well, I caught both bass and pike, though nothing big. The water temp has started to fall but has a ways to go yet. I did talk to a few guys back at the launch after words and a variety of species are being caught ;) Hopefully I can heal quickly and get back out there. :-\

I thought thats what it was from but I didn't want to bust your balls if it wasn't.  Man sorry about that i feel like a dick, kind of my fault.  broken ribs suck bro, I hope you heal quick.  The good thing about those machines is that they can take a beating and once up right they are asking for more.  So what was the damage to the machine, if any?  if there is any i will help you fixing her up, just let meknow.

Rob,
Don't feel bad at all!!! Your the last person I would blame for this. I been around off-road machines all my life. I know the dangers and it was my fault anyways. Me and a buddy of mine were messing around, he was chasing me and I turned into a hill way to hard. It rolled over once using me a cushion, the wheeler had no damage, it landed on the wheels, running. The gas tank/seat area went over my left side. I had my helmet and all that on so it's just my ribs and thigh that got hurt.

As for broken ribs, this is the third time I've broken ribs, and it sucks just the same each time. They gave me pain meds, and I'm just laying low for a few days. Right now I hope to be back to work Wednesday. We'll have to wait and see. Thanks for the offer to help fix'er up, it's already to go now. I'm just to hurt to ride it :-\

Jebus, Dan! I just read this thread again.
Aren't you too old to be playing with those toys?  :)

Seriously- Broken ribs do suck.
I hope you don't have allergies, because a sneeze would make you wish that you were dead.
LMK if you need anything.

Headed out to Lake LeRoy for one of the last trips ever on Monday. It was a good day on the water.

1st Northern of the day.
(https://www.myfishfinder.com/fishing_forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi42.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe348%2Fmxfisher656%2Flakeleroy9-4-06.jpg&hash=e2c1c351128b27d43132196b67bf65d9)

2nd Northern of the day, taken on a violent top water strike   :o
(https://www.myfishfinder.com/fishing_forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi42.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe348%2Fmxfisher656%2Flakeleroy9-4-0629inch.jpg&hash=1c621e46d3b92a55f1a785e2bb89195a)

4th Northern and slob of the day @ 33.5 inches. Was going to get pics for a small upgrade but the fish would not cooperate. Little pike has me thinking I should have, every little bit helps.
(https://www.myfishfinder.com/fishing_forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi42.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe348%2Fmxfisher656%2Flakeleroy9-4-0633.jpg&hash=590ccee0cb4899f891330e563e0e0298)

Caught one more pike and a bass, Fuzz was along with me, he had a tough time 2 pike broke his line, though he still managed 2 bass and a bullhead.

An old friend from high school who moved away about 7 years ago was in town for the last few days. Trevor and I were able to get out for a few hours yesterday to Conesus of some fishing. It was time well spent. Many old stories and memories were recalled and the fishing was very good as well!! We boated 6 pike and 3 bass, and had steady action the whole time we were there. There were more that spit the hook and got away. Here's a few highlights!!!!

My only pike of the day, Trevor caught the other 5. I was umm.....being a good guide ;D ;D
(https://www.myfishfinder.com/fishing_forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi42.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe348%2Fmxfisher656%2F100_0322.jpg&hash=60b381f5fa61249f9f184ba872aa99f7)

One of Trevor's 5

And the LUNKER of the day, my new personal best bass, wish I had a scale. Very good fight! CPR'ed

Well got out to Conesus Saturday morning and Sunday evening for some pike fishing this weekend. It went well there was plenty of action, got some nice fish, just wish I could have found one bigger one, but I'm not complaining nice fish were caught both days. Had an interesting thing happen Saturday at about 1:00 in the afternoon. I hooked a fish, and fought it for a little bit. It made a pass by the boat and I could see it wasn't a pike so I assumed it was a nice bass and didn't go for the net. Well as it got real close to the boat all of a sudden I could see it was a walleye!! :o And a big one at that. :o Well at that point I start freaking out trying to grab the net and keep the line tight. I ended up losing it at the boat :'(. I was bummed but I think about it, I was fishing a spinnerbait in the middle of the afternoon, I wasn't targeting walleye  :-\, though it would have been nice.

Well here's the pics, a few of these were taken with the self timer. I need to work on aiming it a little better, I had a few come out with a headless fisherman holding a fish a pike.  ;D ;D ;D

Saturday morning's lunker 32"

Sunday Troll joined me, his first time on Conesus, a nice 26"
(https://www.myfishfinder.com/fishing_forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi42.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe348%2Fmxfisher656%2F100_0329.jpg&hash=7b791a862c2040f9e0c47f0ceab37b92)

Sunday's lunker 31"

A self timer pic I took Tuesday night when I fished Conesus, it was one of the best days there all year! The other pics didn't come out to well, though the 32"er above was taken with the self timer.

In my last post I mentioned that I had one of my best days of the year, it was about two weeks ago. Well tonight went very well, and I had my best day of the year :thumbup_smilie: (again!). Big J and Myself headed to Conesus after sneaking out of work a little early. :whistling: I was well worth it!!! :thumbup_smilie: The action was fast and furious, back to back fish, I had a fish in the 30" range jump 2' out of the water right next to the boat, though I did end up losing it it was a very cool sight! We got seven in the boat, including a tourney upgrade for myself! Here's the proof! :thumbup_smilie: :thumbup_smilie:

Started of the day right with a nice 33 incher!
(https://www.myfishfinder.com/fishing_forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi42.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe348%2Fmxfisher656%2F100_0333.jpg&hash=85b717c34c5a59a918f554dfd5ab93e1)

Next up it was Big J's turn, his fishing luck has been down lately and this broke fish broke the bad luck streak. He was very pumped! :w00t: :thumbup_smilie: :w00t:
(https://www.myfishfinder.com/fishing_forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi42.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe348%2Fmxfisher656%2F100_0341.jpg&hash=364cdf37561f29453daf6502e3cfab30)

Next was my tourney upgrade a nice 34 incher.  :thumbup_smilie:
(https://www.myfishfinder.com/fishing_forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi42.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe348%2Fmxfisher656%2F100_0337.jpg&hash=1459c6798f799d7f60803402ca097a62)

Then I got this 32 incher!
(https://www.myfishfinder.com/fishing_forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi42.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe348%2Fmxfisher656%2F100_0344.jpg&hash=769d60c9e977e64a435764bbd2a7a661)

Big J rounded out the day with this 28 incher
(https://www.myfishfinder.com/fishing_forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi42.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe348%2Fmxfisher656%2F100_0345.jpg&hash=1b19031c7a0a4002a93a13f3baa2210e)

I also got a 28" and a hammer handle, for a total of seven pike! Not bad for 3 hours of fishing  :thumbup_smilie:
