Hi Montana anglers,
I saw on a fishing program many years ago the t.v. host fishing for paddlefish in Montana's Yellowstone River.
I remember the host was in a small town along the Yellowstone river, it claimed to be the paddlefish capital, I can't remember the name of the town.
It appeared that the host was just snagging them as they are filter feeders.
Have any of you ever tried fishing for paddlefish?
Is there any other rivers in Montana that are better than the Yellowstone?
I would guess that since you snag them you have to keep them, what do they taste like?
I always thought it would be neat someday to try for them, what would a 2 or 3 day licence cost to someone from Can.?
Do you need a special licence to angle for paddlefish?
What is the State record and where was it caught?
Any other info on the paddlefish or paddlefish fishing would be appreciated. :)

waterwolf....if you look at the first thread under the montana section, there is a link to the fishing regulations, and under that if you look in the eastern section there is a special section on just paddlefishing. You can also catch paddlefish on the missouri as well.
