Title: How long of leader?
Post by: bb243 on Jun 26, 2007, 08:30 PM
I have a couple trolling rods, 9', with 17lb line on them that I use with the dipseys, planer boards, and downriggers.  How long of leader and what lb would you guys recommend?  I have heard 300', 100', 30', and so on.  Any ideas?  I mostly troll for walleyes on Lake Erie.

The length you give are how far back to troll
For salmon, lakers, and rainbows I run 6' of 6# Vanish and it works well for me
Good luck
