Stockies are lame, good thing I have my NEPA big brown river, some will know where im talkin bout, but most wont which is good. Last week caught and released my 3rd 24" brown in a week and its public water and its not any lake, and its open year round, but not many seem to fish it ;D
WOW! Now thats a monster stockie! Good thing Salmonrebel is a strong individual & is able to hold that monster up for a pic! I don't know if I coulda done that!! 8)I consumed that monster right after that photo was taken!

....Tasted like a pastey anchovy!!! By eating it right then and there, it didn't count for my limit! So, I was able to add another huge one to my stringer instead!.....Thank God we're headed to that 'Honey-Hole' for the 1st day again this year.....Wonder if I'll break my record for my smallest stockie ever caught. ::)
saw a state stocking truck at the truck stop off exit 17 of rt 84.Here he comes, Jiggerman!.....they had to use a pickup truck to take 'em and put 'em in your secluded honey hole!

Well the creek is already to go for the BIG opening day of trout season. I do have to say this they did put some nice trout in this year. Better then the years past. I know i had one trout that was some where around the 20" mark and a few that where in the upper teens like 16,17" range.
Let me get this straight - in the first part of your post you bashd the PFC stocking practices and illustrated your disdain for the opening day crowds - which contain many youngsters (the future of the sport) enjoying their first fishing expedition with Dad or Gramps,
then,
in the next breath you boast of transplanting NON-NATIVE Aggressive fish into a NATIVE BROOK TROUT stream , just so YOUR BOYS can have it uninterrupted by the unwashed masses.
YOU sir - are a HYPOCRITE,
and according to Bugs Bunny, you are a Maroon Too !!
a stockie is a stockie...dinkie and delicate! :o we really didnt see anything of size...who cares anyway, I dont fish for them fingerlings...I want their mommys and daddys! ;DYeah your right who cares anyway you wont be standing in that creek on opening day. ;D You will be on the boat on the lake catching the same thing i will be catching in some creek somewhere. We were out there on opening day last year and didn't get a one big one. ::)
The creek i went to yesterday for the Southeast opener had a bunch of stockies you actually had to measure to see if they were even legal...I'd hate to see what it'd look like the PFBC stocked smaller fish instead of bigger fish ::) ::) ::)Yeah i know i had a few in my basket that were like wow really but the most of them were decent.
Not to mention bucket stocking is ILLEGAL (and for MANY good reasons). I wouldn't exactly broadcast to the world i broke the law ;) ;)

Don't fergit to watch Pa. Outdoors on Sunday, Don Jacobs :cookoo: is going to give you some tips on how to catch the BIG ONES!
I'm gonna try to get my trailer fixed up today or tomorrow and go put a hurting on the eye population....haven't seen anyone launching at the water gap at all this year, wonder if they are starting to write tickets again ??? I know the past few years they wouldn't write tickets until mid April down there
I know the shad are around, watched about a dozen blow past me last Saturday when I was eye fishing around Portland ;) ;)
What were they writing tickets for at the gap? launching there because of the sand and everything?

I thought I was just gonna go out for a boat ride and NOT catch anything! I guess Ill be GLUED to the TV tonight!!
I will be in the creek on Sat.
Between the 40-50 fish we landed between us yesterday morning the only 1 that went over 12 was around 24"....too bad it was a sucker
just the same as in the SEPA creeks there were some caught that would have actually had to be measured...but they are stockin em bigger :cookoo: :cookoo: :cookoo:
Try a bigger clump of Powerbait....
;D
The last time I used that cr@p was a few years back on the Oswego River during late August....tossed the whole jar on as a joke...ended up getting a channel cat :D :D :D
I have actually caught steelhead out on the lake with power bait before but mostly i don't use the stuff.Too bad you didn't have that net for the monsters you caught Sat, Jiggerman!
I see that there were at least some decent trout caught in NEPA...... I would not have guessed it but I seen it with my own eyes thanks to WNEP outdoor life. Did anybody else see the guy walking from the one lake carrying what looked like a salmon net........ they must have put some monsters in there for that to be needed.
;D
