Ended up with a nice limit of crappie today! started out slow tho, only caught 5 with a tube and bobber. Had to take the bobber off and slow drift/troll the tube in 4-8 fow with weeds. Then I started smokin em lol...ended up being an awsome day!!
Here are pics of three 14+in and one 15in crappie!

Thanks guys! I can't believe how fast everything is happenin... heck if the water gets any warmer the bass are going to start lookin to spawn. The water temp was already at 64 degrees :o!! Flowers are bloomin around here too, wich tells me were gettin close to the peak crappie bite...

Outstanding catch!!!
Water is warm, but the bass have a long ways to go before they drop eggs. It takes a few weeks of warmer water to ripen the eggs before they can drop them. The males might be fooled into looking to make beds because of the temps, but they will be lonely for a while before the big girls show up! Looks like the weather changes back to normal or below normal by the end of next week and that will slow things down. We want more stable weather when the fish spawn so we get good year classes from the bass, crappies and gills. If it gets warm to fast then gets cold again it can ruin a year class of fish.

Thanks, nope they were caught at a private lake, wich was an old pit at one time... went out today, man it was slow..... Brought back three good crappie and one nice gill! Tried two different lakes today, one was hamilton, wich only produced one 11" crappie. Not sure what happened, but hopefully tuesday will be better!

The fish bit good, just had to drift with the wind w/ no bobber,, managed 24 crappie and 5 bass. Here are a couple pics of the two biggest crappie caught today, measuring 14-14.5+ inches!

WOW AGAIN with the crappie!!!
What is the largest crappie you ever got from this pond?
It has to be 17"+
-
I got one last year on a blue and chrome trap 17.25", year before that a 16.5". My biggest crappie ever is 17+" I caught thru the ice this winter on the barbee chain. It was all I could do to get it thru a 6" hole lol.
