Good old reliable method. When it comes to structure fishing for crappies, pitching jigs with(out) soft plastics and tipped with a crappie minnow is just the most effective way to fish for them. There's just lots of freedom of movement and flexibility in the presentation technique to try to trigger a bite. Bottom orientated fishing next to vertical structure or sharp drop offs is just what makes this such a reliable method. So many times feeling the slight tap so similar to the jig touching the bottom was actually a bite. So many times second guessing it led to the fish already spitting out the lure.
