Here's another fun game for ya! I harvested this walleye tonight and want to see what you think it weighs. Take a guess to the nearest pounds and ounces and consider the fact that the fish was 20" and had in it's stomach a small fish about 4" that was probably 5" when first eaten, taking into account decompostion and loss of length, due to said decompostion. Anyhoo, here's the walleye and a pic of the stomach contents. Take a guess and see what you think this walleye weighed. Once again, with this contest and all contests sponsored by slipbob, you win nothing. ;D
By the way, this walleye was a little piggy and ate something that was approximatley one fourth it's size. ::)

I'm not quite sure what the small fish was but it's either a rock bass, crappie or white perch.

I have to agree. I think with the shorter days now it's starting to turn. In the fall is the only time I see fish in the stomachs of the walleyes I catch. The fish I caught last night hit hard, real hard. They wanted a piece of my lure I'll tell you that. ;D
That is very good news!

2 lbs 6 0z

Gotta go with 3 lbs 10 oz and the half digested meal is a bluegill. BTW there are 2.2 lbs to the Kg.
-
2.08 and the meal looks like a perch! :-\
-
4-4
-
My guess on the walleye is 2lbs 16oz. The meal was a white perch.
-
Uh, I meant 2lbs 14oz, sorry. ::) (2lbs 16oz is 3lbs)
Still sticking with the white perch meal though!!
-
3 lbs. 3 oz
(by the way, 1 kilogram is approximately 2.2 lbs. since you guys didn't know)
-
2 lbs 7 oz.
To get FB's weight, multiply by 2.2 to get lbs. Geez, he's skinny!! I meant the fish's weight!
-
4LB 6 oz :)
-
3.5 lbs
-
3 LB 4 OZ

The meal is a bluegill and the walleye is 3 pounds 13 ounces.

Man, I got jipped again! I got it right on the friggin nose too!!! :cursing: I demand that this go to the Supreme Court! The rules said you had to guess in pounds and ounces, but the rules didn't say that you had to post them in pounds and ounces! I guessed in pounds and ounces and converted them to kgs, then posted!
Uh. Huh? Wait a minute. ***censored**** do I care, I'd win nothing anyway! :rotflol:

ALOHA!

Alrighty...let me step in here a bit. 2 pounds is approximately 907 grams (or 0.907 kg), or alternatively, 1 kg is approximately 2.2 lb.
On another note, in a thread in the fishing pictures, we got into weights, and I looked up a few fish weight estimation calculators, so here goes....
http://www.rodworks.on.ca/records.html
http://www.outdoorsite.com/fishingcalc/index.cfm (would make it 9)
http://www.fishdreams.com/calculator.all_species.html (gives 9.9...same as previous post)
http://www.gsmfc.org/sasweb/fishsize.htm (this one is for saltwater fish only, but thought I'd include it...)
http://www.liveleaderboard.com/fish-weight.asp (walleye, pike, bass and bluegill - 9.19 lb)
http://www.iceshanty.com/iceshanty/fish_weight_calculator.php (IceShanty)
http://www.bcfishingreports.com/fish_calculator.html (for steelhead & salmon)
http://www.rodnreel.com/fishcharts/FishCharts.asp (for species around the Gulf Coast - no pike, walleye, etc.)
http://www.bassresource.com/bassfishing/fishcalculator.html (this one has 6 fish types, so may be a bit finer than some of the others - just over 9)
You get the picture...there are many others. Many of them divide into only 2 types, so I think would be a bit more of a rough calculation. The ones for walleyes tend to be on the light side for the big fish (either that or everyone who catches 28-30 inch fish are grossly overestimating the weight).
