The hardwater season is over. I hoping to get out a lot this year. I have not fished in openwater in two years. I already been out three time this year! Cant wait until opening day!

Awesome! This year was my first year actually ice fishing, but I love openwater. I think I like ice fishing better, but I can't wait till opening day!

Chepi and I went to Stump yesterday to see if his luck on the ice carried over. Fished some live and some dead on heavy tackle but not a nibble. Time to rig for bass.

I have tried stump twice this year for pike with no luck.

Only ever hit them open water at Wordens, that was a few years ago, have tried since but nothing.

I have a yet to get a pike through the ice or openwater. I hope to change that this year!

I'll second that ^^^^

Throw BIG swimbaits + spinners in shallow water this time of year for pike as they are in spawning mode. Drag a big golden around under a bobber while throwing an artificial too. Pike can be very tough to get at ice out, but your chances for an open water hog is at its best right now. Coves with river inlets prouce really good this time of year. ;)

I give it try. Thanks for the tips.
