I recently stayed the night in Ridgeland, SC. It rained so hard the parking lot of the hotel looked like a river. After the rain stopped I went out to my truck. In the middle of the parking lot I found a live fish. Could someone identify it for me.
Thanks,
Rock

Invasive species snakehead

It didn't have any big teeth and the anal fin is short. Bowfin, maybe?

from the looks there is a dot by its tail. So yes I'd say its a bowfin or dogfish as they are better known here

My vote is for Bowfin...

Definitely bowfin

Thank you all. I put it back in a nearby stream that was about 500 yards from the hotel.
