Title: Housatonic River
Post by: fishndog on Apr 09, 2015, 06:53 AM
Good bye ice hello open water. I love the transition either way! Went to Shelton yesterday to go through the motions. Haven't  been there since the end of Dec. Casted a jighead with a white zoom body for 3 hrs and got 2 schoolies. 14 and 21 inch fish. Water is really cold and fish are sluggish. Better fishing there soon with the warmer water and herring run right around the corner.  I`m pumped! Gonna focus a couple weeks on some trout for the smoker. Good luck all and tight lines

Nice! Word is there are schoolies in the usual early-season spots in the CT River but the water temps are keeping them a little sluggish.
