Title: Inland Sea panfish can be addictive !!
Post by: dickbaker on Jun 13, 2017, 11:49 AM
;D  Inland Sea panfish!    June is the time to fish for panfish (blue gill, pumkinseed and yellow perch).   They are near shore by the gazillion?
At the Grand Isle town beach I used my fly rod to catch and release a hundred panfish.  A commercial fisherman used bobber and worm next to me and left with a huge cooler of fish headed to a buyer.   I came back the next morning and found a few less fish but more than enough to catch one on almost every cast.   I quit when a 12 yr. old boy asked how he could catch them.  He had a rod so I gave him a small bobber and 1/16th ounce jig and a box of crawlers, left over from carp fishing.   When I left he was keeping his dad busy releasing panfish and replacing crawlers?
