Title: Swimmin Jimmy fly
Post by: Johnnh on Jun 16, 2023, 08:20 AM
Is anyone using the swimming jimmy fly?
I have been doing well using them on smallies, blue gill, sunfish, raibows and brookies / i even lost one to a good size snapping turtle yesterday.
I am using my orvis clearwater 9' 5wt and having a blast.

Cant send a pic right now. I had 3 flies and lost them all this week. 1 to a snapping turtle, 1 to a big smallie that wrapped me around a snag and 1 to a bad knot.
I ordered more from www.Madriveroutfitters.com
You can view the swimmin jimmy flies on their site.
I was using chartreuse/orange and chartreuse/white both in size 4
While your reviewing them, check out the youtube videos on the swimmin jimmy
Hope this helps and i will send pictures when my order gets here

RG i fish with an older gentleman that told me same thing to much for a fly, he ties up these souped up black nose dace.  I asked him what you got for materials and time he wasn't sure so he was gonna do a time trial and add up material.  When we hit river this spring I asked what's one of your fly's worth. Turns out 4.50 in material including epoxy head and 47minutes at vice.  Had to rib him a little cause he's throwing 30dollar streamers to my 8 dollar time definitely has a price tag
