A buddy from work took me on the Grand River today here in town and we managed to boat 10 lm bass and one gill. Now that I know the river depths I will be taking my boat down there for it's maiden voyage since the refab. The bass were hitting on mepps spinners today.

Got out fishin one time on Portage Lake up in the Keweenaw over the Memorial weekend.  Fished Oskar bay in a Kayak.  Ended up landing 5 smallies from 3-5 lbs.  Lost the first pig smallie that I hooked right at the side of the kayak.  She woulda went better than 6 lbs.  Will post some pics when I figure out how/bring my camera into work.  Anyone else ever fish up there on the Portage?  Im planning on going out next weekend for a pike/walleye tournament.
