All the lakes around Regina are pretty good at one time or another. If you are looking for numbers then I would suggest Pasqua, Echo, Mission, Katepwa Crooked or Round lakes. You could add Last Mountain Lake to that list for spring fishing, but as summer progresses the walleye get harder to find. Once you find them you can be in for some fantastic fishing. Once they leave the north or south ends of the lake it can be pretty hit or miss. I have a cabin at Glen Harbor & I don't start fishing for walleye in that area until about mid August. The fishing(for walleye) in that area will stay good from mid August til mid January then it takes alot of searching to find them. This past winter was an exception to that rule, the walleye stayed in the area for the whole ice season(the average size was down from previous years)& the amount of shacks in the area increased. Although I haven't fished there myself, some say that Buffalo Pound is pretty good at times. A couple of small lakes worth mentioning are Dunnet Reservoir(by Avonlea) & the Regional park at Craik, both are good shore fishing spots. There are probably a few that I've missed. As you can see there are quite a few places close to Regina & it will probably take most of the season just to try them. I forgot to mention Diefenbaker Lake, I used to fish there quite a bit prior to the lake being overrun with Rainbow Trout, but not being a trout fan I haven't been there for probably 8-10 years. It used to be a fantastic Walleye lake! I've heard that the rainbow numbers have decreased & that the walleye are starting to show up again(maybe just rumors).
