Man, there looked to be some nice weight on some of them. So being Canadian and not knowing how you good o'l boys think, were they fishing to sell em or freeze em? Or the worst, because they didn't know better????

Did anyone read the Oct 2003 issue of Field and Stream? There was an article in there about a poaching ring in California that was hunting black bear for the gall bladder and feet. I know it isn't fishing related, but poaching none the less. It took California DEC over 4 years to collect enough informtion and evidence on the poachers to file charges and ultimately convict the men that were involved. They would shoot deer during the day and stake out the wounded or dead deer during the night and wait for a black bear to come along. After killing the bear they would cut the gall bladder out and cut the feet off and sell them on the black market. The gall bladder would bring $800 and the fine for shooting a bear out of season was $500 so basically there was no real consequence to keep them from doing it. Worst part is that people like that is what gives the Anti's more and more ammunition to invoke more hunting and fishing restrictions.  >:(

I just talked to my buddy about this very thing last nite (Refering to the StarTrib article from Minneapolis).  I won't mention the nationality,  but the criminals were imports from another country.  My buddy brought up the point that the article never mentioned the fact that these criminals were fishing without a license,  so we deduced that these criminals had licenses and knew exactly what they were doing.  They were 80 some fish over their daily limit and when their house was searched,  they were over 100 sunfish over their Panfish possesion limit.  This kind of crap makes me very angry about the liberties that our country allows other to take for granted.  GO BACK TO WHERE YOU CAME FROM IF YOU CAN'T FOLLOW THE LAWS!!!!!!!   >:( >:( >:(  YOU ARE RUINING IT FOR THOSE WHO CAN FOLLOW THE LAWS!!!! >:( >:( >:(

sbfpa is right, alot of the immagrants r ruining fishing by going WAY over thier limits. im not trying to bash on em but ya kno what i mean?   up in NH, at one specific lake that always has the same people from the ethnic group and they keep EVERYTHING they catch. bass, bluegills, etc. and go over thier limits.
I like big fish and I cannot lie!

A routine traffic stop Tuesday along Interstate 35W in Lino Lakes, Minn., turned up a carload of 117 walleyes caught in the St. Louis River in Duluth.

Lino Lakes police called in Anoka conservation officer Travis Muyres after smelling a strong fish odor in the car.

"The vehicle had been stopped for speeding when the officer noticed the strong odor of fish," Muyres said. "We later counted 117 walleye in the trunk."

Charged with gross misdemeanor overlimit in Anoka County were Bunchan Srey, 51; Dymong Chhoun, 20; Bunsean Lieng, 19; Samnang Pich, 19; and a juvenile, all from Minneapolis.

The people should have had no more than 10 St. Louis River walleyes in the vehicle.

Officers then obtained a search warrant for the home of three of the suspects and found 305 sunfish, which is 145 fish over the limit. The sunfish were caught in the Twin Cities.

The adults face fines of up to $3,000 each, one year in jail, or both. The restitution value for the walleye listed in the criminal complaint is $2,790 while restitution on the sunfish would hit $725. The adults have a June court date. The juvenile pled guilty to gross misdemeanor overlimit, but was not ordered to pay restitution.

Charges for the illegal sunfish are pending in Hennepin County.

Did he do that all at once? I thought it was humanly impossible to burp and fart at the same time. I think people blow up when they do that :) ;D :D
