find any 'Buca yet in the woods?

Hey, let's remember that I spent 34 years working in a classroom before retiring waiting for my turn and these moments to come.  You would love it here.  Just think of how much fun we could have sitting around the campfire in our Cabella's Alaskan suits drinking schnapps.  Wait is's summer!!!!!   There are plenty of woods to search for hooch.  I will carry on our tradition and keep the search alive.
I'm trying to train Tucker, my brittany, to point out the Buca.  I thought it worked the other day, he came around on a hard point.  When I went of over the check it out it was just a ruffed grouse.  How disappointing.  Why am I the only guy with a bird dog that can't find Buca?  See,  live can be so unfair,  ROFLMAO.  So now I'm forced to just sit around at night and have an icy cold beer from a cooler full of ice.  Life is tough.  Seems like each time I have to relieve myself in the woods a moose or bear has beat me to the spot.  I could swear the droppings had a hint of licorice.  And I thought the yearling couldn't stand steady because it was a new born.  Enough silliness.    Miss ya pal.   Say hello to Donna for us.  Take care.

i envy you jimbo. because i know the area well. those yellow lady slippers are commen all over the northern  area of the state, i,e seen white ones also. check the sides of the brooks also for the jack in the pulpet. and those fly catcher plants on the heaths.neet.

Might sound silly but I was most looking forward to seeing the yellow lady slippers and we got up here soon enough to see them.  I was worried they may have gone by because it has been so warm up here so early.  We have plenty of pulpits back home but I will keep an eye out for the pitcher plants.  I was walking the stream the other day.  The spring percolates up out of the ground where the stream begins.  The beavers have damed it up down stream and has created a whole new habitat on the property.  There is a pair of mallards in there with 6 ducklings and the moose and deer track indicate they are frequent visitors.  I keep finding bear droppings.  All the signs are here but I have yet to see a moose, deer or bear.  Probably because I have Tucker with me and I run him with his cow bell.  I don't want him chasing the animals.   The purple trilliums have come and gone and they were also amazing.  We have them in MA but there just seems to be more of everything up here.  Billy, it's all trout and salmon up here, What did you do scare all the bass out of northern Maine when you lived here?  Take care hope all is well with you and Donna.  So this thread has gone from fish to flowers.  That's because it's not just fish I'm after when  I'm fishing.  I feel fortunate to be here and blessed with with the opportunity.

Last weekend I worked and repaired picnic tables, helped install a steel roof on a garage, cut some trees down for firewood and cleared the path of brush where we bring the kayak rentals up with the 4 wheeler. It's a Polaris Ranger and fun to drive. The pace is very laid back and I enjoy the work.  The owners are good people.  Kathy and I are working weekends and free during the week.  We are getting to know the area but Kathy's activities are very limited because of her broken foot.  Kathy does her hours in the store and office.

Funny story,  we go to Wally World the other day and Kathy gets to use one of the motorized carts to get around.  She is in the ladies section when we decide to leave.  She goes to turn and guns it taking out a underwear display.  Metal crashing down and longerie hanging all over the basket of the scooter.  Almost die laughing, then I thought maybe this is my lucky night. Probably not.   Kathy just kept yelling ,"Get me out of here!".  It was good for a laugh all the way back to the campground.

Take care buddy.
