river fishing for walleyes

any tips on how to river fish for walleyes? i have heard that jigs with minnows works well.

Yes they do, especially in the spring and fall.  You can catch river eyes on about anything you can keep on the bottom.  As far as finding them look for current breaks located near deep water to start.  You'll have to move around and find them as they will hold in different areas at different times of the year.

got out today went out below the falls of the big sioux. not much but had one eye clinging to the end of the jig i would say 13 in flopped off as i brought him up.

hey p/f if you have a boat try fishing the heads and tails of deeper water 10 to 20 fow if tou got a good fish finder you should see them hugging the bottom look for bait fish also water temp is getting there up here in ny 56 degrees good luck 8)
