Help looking for a Jig
« on: Jun 16, 2012, 03:33 PM »
Try this again, I'm looking for jigs. The company doesn't make them anymore looking for the black ones. If you have a couple in your tackle box that you don't use I would be glad to take them off your hands. Here is what they look like.

you can get berkley gulp minnows as small as 1" now. match those with some cheap jigheads and you have pretty much the same thing.

I agree with Kyle, lots of plastics are fairly similar to those and should work well too.

I agree with everyone on trying new Berkley.  Its one of my fishing partners favorite jig. It would be a nice treat to get a hold of a couple for a gift.  Its his favorite jig and he believes its his go to jig for crappie. I catch just as many with Berkley gulp but its a argument every time we go out. Who's jig is better and would like to keep it going.  If you know what I mean. LOL

Yeah I hear ya.

I always say confidence is a big part of fishing anyways, so if your buddy has had a lot of success with that rig.... well why change when something is working:  I guess if you can't find the darn things anymore.

It does look like an interesting little jig.  There are plenty of lures I'd like to use that have been discontinued and are not made anymore.... always a bummer.

I think, I just found some on ebay.  :o I order them will see if they are the right ones when they come in. Its worth a gamble if not I'll just add some expensive jigs to my collection. LOL If you have  a couple still sitting around I'm still interested.

That tail looks very similar to the Lindy Watsit Jig

It's kinda hard to see if there is anything else going on there with that jig, but maybe your friend will like them.

It's kinda funny. . .it seems like my go-to crappie jig changes every year or two--depending upon what's worked the best most recently.   :-\
