THE ICE IS MELTING
« on: Mar 13, 2014, 09:03 PM »
Its been a long season on the ice. Got a LOT of big perch and few good sized pike but I'm ready for some soft water fishin. I know morony is still closed but we're gonna see if we can walk in on the trail. If not might head downstream to carter. We'll see what happens

Iv had some good luck fishing off that point on the top of the dam. I doubt they would get mad if you went there. Idk Probly not worth pissing off PPL though.

That's where we usually go, right up on the dam almost. Its good fishin if you know how to do it. I had to have one of the guys from work come down with me and show me how to git er done and atfer that I've rarely come home empty handed

Yea it's a good spot I don't think iv ever been skunked there. Theres a really nice drop off ledge along that shoreline toward the main body of water. Ill pull spoons among that and catch some nice rainbows. But theres a little of everything. Huge carp, big perch, smallmouths, iv even reeled in a few walleye there.

Eyes are what we go down there for. I've never seen anyone get perch but I watched the guy from work I'm talkin about, Big D, yank a little ling up over the wall. I was amazed. In my experience they stick to slower water and I hadn't heard of any caught that far down river
