So, what are some of your favorite books on the subject of fishing?  They can be fire-side stories, coffee table books, or how-to type reference books...

One of mine is a book that I picked up while on manuevers in the Army one year.  I forgot to take something to read with me and was jonesing for a book.  Fortunately, the local PX had a cheap paperback book on fishing.  I didn't think it would be that great, but it turned out to be one that I turn to all the time for reference.

Hook, Line, and Sinker: The Complete Angler's Guide To Terminal Tackle by Gary Souce

This book is fantastic.  It covers just about everything from the various hooks, sinkers, methods for rigging, types of swivels, leaders, lines, knots, lures, corrosion, etc.  It also covers each topic as it applies for the various methods (trolling, jigging, bait fishing, targeting specific species).

Anyone have any favorite books to share that we might want to add to our own bookshelves?  Please, no magazines, journals (periodicals).  We already have a couple threads on that topic...

Thanks.

Mine would be" Fly-fishing guide to the Great Smoky Mountians"by Don Kirk. I would recommend it to anyone who is considering going to the park to fish.

Don't forget Lunkers Love Nightcrawlers by the folks at Fishing Facts. Lots of good information about structure fishing, use of sonar, cold fronts, etc.

For "how to" stuff I turn to periodicals or the net.  I turn to a book for entertainment mostly.  Nothing beats a good Pat McManus story to improve your mood.

Right now I'm reading "Walleye Secrets"by Dick Sternberg. My favorite is"Fishing Rivers & Streams" also by Dick Sternberg. He is a river fishing expert and explains things in great detail.I plan on reading some of Buck Perry's books. He is the master of structure fishing, and I hope to learn from his wisdom.
