fish finder recommendations

I can spend up to $500 for a fish finder. I fish walleyes, smallies and perch and other panfish. Can any of you guys give a plug for what you consider the best unit on the market and any other tips you might have for me would be appreciated. Thanks.

I am also interested in buying a fishfinder this year. Around the same price range give or take a few hundred dollars.

For just a straight fish finder in that price range I highly recommend the Lowrance X510C. It's an excellent, easy to use color unit.

Color is definately the way to go. Haven't seen color units combined with GPS for $500 yet. I too, have the Lowrance. Great detail, and easy to use.
