Lake Freeman
« on: Feb 14, 2009, 06:24 PM »
Hello all! New to this site. Migrated over from iceshanty for the year. My new neighbor has a lake house on Lake Freeman and he told to come and fish anytime. He is not a fisherman...so I guess more for me ;D. Does anyone know if the spring crappie fishing is any good here and where should I start looking?

Go below the dam and fish for walleye's.  I guess they really screwed up the good runs with big boulders cause the dam is in bad shape.   They will still be there.  If you going there a lot it's worth buying a key to the conservation club.  Try crappie.com also.  There are some members that fish it.

Yes below the dam is real good for the spring walleye run! White bass after that good luck  :)

come end of march, crappies can be caught fishing vertical around the boat docks, south of dodge camp. Had a good year last year doing it but it was more towards the end of april it seemed. I,ve gotten them in late march but tougher finding them on the tippy (freeman)
