Advice on Indian Lake - Hamilton County
« on: Jul 07, 2011, 09:44 AM »
Fishin' Indian with a buddy this comming weekend.  Gotta 19' inboard so we can pretty much go any were.  Looking to target pike and bass with some trout but no lead core or down riggerz.  Plan to try John Mack for pike with sinners and shinners under bobbers, around the islands for bass with tubes n grubs and over the deep water for browns and lakers with spoons and wabbler / worm.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

I would watch that statement about "going  pretty much go anywhere." Indian Lake likes to eat lower units. Lots of rocks and unmarked. Find the deep trench in the north end to middle..  South end and John Mack Bay for bass and pike .. the back of mack bay it splits, stay to the right and you can go back up the river. I have had good luck with Pike back in there. The Bass are like black flies there a pain in the ass. Some people like like them.  Watch for ROCKS and go slow. Let me know how you make out.. go to the DEC web site and print a Indian Lake Map

Many thanks TimberKinG!  Yeh we herd about all the rockie sholes thanks so much for the boating safety advice.  We printed the DEC map and plan to stop at the Inian Lake store as we herd that they have a detailed topo map of the lake.  We will stick to the safe areas that you pointed out and keep our eyes peeled when elseware.  I will post how we did when we get back on Tuesday.  One more hour and we are blowing out of work and headed north.... WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
