Beginner's River Luck
« on: Jul 22, 2011, 01:56 PM »
Had a great time with a friend on the Kankakee this morning. Launched at "The Point" and within a couple casts he has a pike on. Then in a few more casts he hooks into something big. It flashed once and I think it was a nice pike. Then he proceeded to catch several smallies. All were caught on a soft plastic orange craw. I hooked on smallie but lost it before the boat. I was the net boy and driver this morning and enjoyed introducing a newbie to the river. It was great to be on the river for the first time this year.

Crappie, Bass, Gills, Eyes, Pike, anything that swims!!

Good going, guys.  The river looks pretty good there.  Might have to sneak on over there sometime.

Nothing like being a river rat for a day.
