Minn kota and humminbird compadible?
« on: Mar 12, 2013, 12:05 AM »
Hey ive currently got a Minn kota power drive on my boat. I just bought a humminbird 561 di and was wondering if I can use the transducer on the trolling motor or if I will be mounting the transducer that came with the fish finder...thank everyone

I am pretty sure if you are planning on using the DI part of it that specific transducer needs to be mounted on the trolling motor to work.

I have a Lowrance unit with structure scan and have everything on the transom of the boat.  I just found out from searching that Lowrance offers a switch to choose which transducer to use so when I get a new trolling motor I will also get the switch so I can use the TM transducer while fishing.

You can use the built-in transducer on your MinnKota but the down imaging won't work. You have to use the transducer that came with the Hbird to use the DI but on the positive side, when using the MinnKota ducer, everything else will work fine!  Hbird makes a box and switch to link everything together so you can swap between ducers also.  Check out their website.  Good luck and Good fishin' - OH
