i have  no  doubt  Brookfield is  sounding  the  alarm  to the  point  to  be  annoying   and  i  also  believe  it  is  totally  to  justifiy  killing  the  fishery  ....  Brookfield  brings  no money into  oswego   other  then   the  coffee  it's  few  employs   buy  on  the  other hand   those  tourism  dollars  are  huge  .....

again  the  DEC  is  killing  the  goose  that laid  the  golden  egg  by  handing   tickets  out  for   bs  .....  i know  everyone  is  going  to  jump on me   but  ...leave  the  fisherman  alone  the  salmon  are  dieing  lets  make  money    off  them    and  not only  will it  help our  area   but  the  incress  in lic  fees  will  support   parks  and  programs  to  better our  fishing  and  hunting  .....  it's  time  to  get  smart  and  not   be  a  dip .......  you know

X2. Its about time they do something. The alarm sounded 3 times wensday and 2 were false. Brookfield has their head up there a#$@. I've notice in the past few years a lot of people not coming back the next year. I was out today and there was maybe 40 people in the water.

I gotta agree. They should be fined for every false alarm. I think it puts people at danger. What happens is you are fishing and they alarm goes off, you hightail it to shore. Wait, nothing happens, you wade back out, siren goes off, you comeback nothing happens. Next time siren goes off you say screw it and stay fishing and they raise the water and you got a problem.

thats exactly the scenario that got them into the whole mess in the first place. For years they'd turn on the siren and there would be no change in water flow (if they went from pumping water over the dam to running it through the powerhouse and vice versa the alarm would sound even though there would be no change in water levels) and many people just started ignoring the alarms when they did sound.

Then factor in they didn't always sound them when they were releasing water at any of the upstream dams and you then had sudden rises with no warning and thats where people got in trouble and had to be rescued/ drowned  :-\
