yum craw bug

Anybody try these out for smallmouth? If you havnt i highly recommend them! i went  a couple times in the last month in a fairly good size river as well as a very large one and they wouldnt hit anything until i threw one of those out they went crazy for them, plus the held on to them for a long time, you could watch and feel them carrying it, im really impressed with them because smallies seem to be pretty picky around here

Sounds like a winner. Keep up the good work and make sure you post if you continue to have good luck with these lures. Patterns is what it's all about. Thanks for the post.

How do you rig them?  ive only fished them in shallow lakes for largemouth and i always seemed to have lackluster success

if he's talking about the same Yum crawfish I've been using......they work very well with a standup jig head or a tube jig head inside the body of the bait for smallies. I'm in upstate NY and I've run across a few different days were that bait was the only thing they would even look at let alone eat. They do work well when the situation calls for them.

Thats how ive been doing it , 3in craw with a 1 1/8 tube jig head, shallower water rig it on an off set hook with a split shot in front

I started fishing the yum crawbugs last year had good luck with them and plan on fishing them more this year like other people have said rig them on a tube or stand up jig head.
If I'm not fishing then I'm not happy

Im looking forward to trying the new Yum "Bigshow" Craw, it has the profile of beaver tail style baits, should be productive
