Headed up last weekend. Still partially frozen. Ice sheet was shifting hourly. Probably thawed by now. Lots of fisherman. FWP said not many were catching fish. Could see them spawning right in front of us. Couple chasers but no takers. I've been there mid late june and killed em right from shore when they're actually cruising. Buggers and tiny red flies. Let me know.

I fished East Fork several times last year.  Caught lots of little trout on small spinners in shallow water fishing from my boat casting from deeper water into the shallows.  For bigger trout I fished the 10-25 foot range pulling Rapalas and spoons behind a trolling weight.  Lots of nice bull trout were released and we even got a couple big cutthroats.

Fished CF a few years ago for spawners. Same thing, got a lot of chases, no strikes. The guys doing really well, and I mean really well, were throwing out prince nymphs on a fly rod. So you might try that. You can throw them out with a clear float if you don't have a fly rod, or pick up a fly rod at Wally world for like $20.

My brother has fished it more than me.  He has done well jigging rapala's and pink/white jigs.  I fished it more in the summer.

Went to EFR today. For those interested, ice is still 22 - 24 inches thick. See my updated post on the IceShanty for more info. - SpitzoMT

**FOR THOSE INTERESTED**

I hardwater fished East Fork Reservoir today for the last time this season. Iced 5 fish.
I drove down to the south end of the reservoir & hiked over to the open water. There's enough open water to throw some spinners, rapalas, etc etc. When I left the reservoir, I took the road out to Georgetown Lake and made it through. There's still some decent snow on parts of the road, especially the spots that don't get much sun. Had to drive across a big drift at Windy Ridge, only because the little sneaky road around it was drifted worse. Just an FYI for those who like to fish up there. Take care everyone!!

Here's a few pics of the south end of the reservoir.
