CAMPING
« on: Jun 05, 2014, 08:28 AM »
I know this is a fishing site so I hope it doesn't get whacked. We just picked up a camper and I was wondering if there are some nice grounds sorta close (NW. IN.) that have nice facilities. Been out of the camping game for a while. Used to tent but the wife and I were tired of getting wet after storms and sweating while trying to sleep at night. I know this will cut down on my fishing, but, have to keep the wife happy. If we plan on a extended stay we will have to take 2 vehicles and the boat. I can only wish.  Any help or suggestions are welcome.

Bass lakes got a great campground Al lol,
Lots of great state parks.
I'm heading to Patoka Lake in 2 weeks for a week.
I pull my 30ft camper and wife pulls the boat-still cheaper than a cabin.
Shakamak has a great camp ground with good fishing, electric motor only but 3 good lakes-4 hrs and your there.

There is a decent campground at Winona Lake at Warsaw.  Walleye and crappie in the lake and a nice touristy area for the wife in town.  Campground has a boat launch.  Easy trip down rt 30.

Monroe is good. Camping is at Paynetown.  If you reserve a site you might actually be right next to the boat. Wake up and go.   Hardy Lake in southern Indiana is nice too. During July you might get into some bass/wipers in the jumps in the mornings.
