Use pressure treated instead
A few years back they got rid of the copper in it so it's good for boats now

I used plywood with waterproof glue then encapsulated it with a poly resin.. Seemed to be cheaper and is tough as nails! Bought the resin at new meadows marina on old Rt. 1 in Brunswick.. I forget the brand name of it at the moment unfortunately

Anything coated with "hull and deck" will last forever in freshwater.

The advantec plywood is waterproof . Its used for subflooring. I had a sheet in back of my truck for 4 years untreated and still good as the day I put it in there,.. They did a test on advantec submerged a sheet under water for a year and took it out and never swelled up or come apart.  Way cheaper too.

anyone carry scraps, i need a piece either 5/16 or 3/8 marine grade douglas fir to fix a small hole in the hull, a foot by half foot would probably do it. dont want to pay delivery charges for a whole sheet

I had a bass boat a few years back that I replaced the deck and carpet. I mostly used in in fresh, and sometimes salt. I was at the lumber yard trying to get 3/4" marine plywood. The price was ridiculous. The older gentleman at the counter insisted that all I needed was 1/2 A/C exterior plywood. I think the A side is sanded and no knots, the C is the rough side. He advised painting or priming the edges, I did the flat surfaces too. I carpeted over them. I used to leave it out all year uncovered, for many years, worked out well, and at about 20% of the price compared to marine plywood and less weight.

I would also use 1/2" exterior grade plwood. That is what I used to replace the deck on my boat.I made up a big batch of marine west system and coated edges and both sides. Then painted it with exterior paint with skidtek added to the last coat. Has held up great and I can hose it down when needed.

If you plan on fiberglassing this project do not use pressure treated wood. Resin will not adhere to it.

You've had much better luck with it than me,my floor is junk after 4 years with it.I'm glad it was cheap.
