here's a few of the little guys from the Burlington brooks I hit over the weekend;-nice colors on them+ so many little spotted sardines darting through the pools!-Beautiful places to fish too!-this was with baits+lures:when the Farmington slows down a bit I'll be out there with the five-weight!

-top two fish were from belden brook; smaller brookie from negro hill; colorful brown from Burlington brook-I was all around that area this weekend.-Farmingtons' a bit high unless you want to drive up riverton way so I hit the small streams; got a bunch of natives; and pulled a few stocked for the smoker.-no pics. of the stockies though; they taste fine; just aren't as pretty.

those are some beautiful native trout. i had a similar day yesterday on roaring brook in ashford. i found a few new spots to fish the river(new for me). and had a great day.
several small native brooks and browns with a few good size stock browns. hardly anybody out. its amazing the number of wild trout streams available to us. I have 4 or 5 within 15 minutes drive from my house in tolland.
fighting your way through brush to find that small riffle holding fish may be a pain but the reward can be great, as your pictures can attest.

I absolutely love the little wild browns. When they have the red specs on them they just look so cool. Glad I know a few spots a can catch natives on a fly

went back to burlingtonbrook in the morning- fished the lower portion (shop area, belden rd.area)-caught over a dozen little browns-and a stocked rainbow I kept but it was swarmed w/ baby salmon!-you can see these guys chasing your rig into the shallowest runs-so I left the stream to let these little guys get their feed on-In the evening went to the pequabuck in Bristol w/ my cousin+got several more trout-two little wild browns & a few stocked browns+rainbows-my cousin got two rainbows+missed a solid broodstock in a pool!-It's definitely a great weekend for trout fishing!-Maybe next week'll see some shad coming thru the Farmington!
