Tip for you guys that not many people do.
« on: Apr 21, 2006, 09:52 PM »
I thought this was common, but not common enough i guess. Take a piece of white reflextor tape and wrap it around the rod near the tip. Makes it very visible even in low light. Just thought id share to those who didnt know.

a can of cheap orange glow spray paint does the trick to. golden stren lights up real well in low light conditions to. this old man needs an edge when the feeling for the bites is gone sad but true :'(.

I use a glow stick that I hang off the tip. The bigger ones also work pretty good as a float.

I have used the bells, refelector tape and the lighted bobbers. But, it is just way to hard to fish 2 rods where I catfish. I can only fish affectively with one rod in hand, wam-o, Fish On!
But, they all work and have there purpose, I really haven't done much bullheading where I can use the 2 rods and not worry about my rods going in the drink.  ;)

I have never fished for porpoises, what do they taste like camo ? ::) ;D

When the bite gets going, one does have to go down to one rod.  But with two I think one stands a better chance of gettin' that bite going.  Ya, it sucks having two rods in hand with fish on each ::)

I was talking to another angler, who said he had used a bell.  On his first cast,it made the nicest ring as it sailed across the lake!!!   Maybe it wasn't attached the right way.

I use battery operated lights and they work great at night, they last about 200 hours before you need to replace the battery. I got them at Cabelas . Just tape them to your rod tip. The lights slip on and off your pole when you cast, so you won’t lose them.

Yep!!!! a little reflective tape, or white-out or paint - all with a lantern that has a shield on it so it's shining on your rod(s) and not in your eyes, is the way to go!
Gone fishin'

Use a glow bead size 4, where you tie your hook onto the line.
