Should be a blast, everyone who responded thinks so too.  Canadian Tire also sells cheap inflatables that would work.  Theres safety in numbers when doing a float trip like this,  plus if you get too far ahead how will you know were we stopped to camp?  The trip is free and you bring your own supplies,  it comes highly reccomended by the local CO (he has done it 7 times).

hit the river last night on a good looking stretch of water. hooked into a MONSTER goldeye. dont know what the Alberta record is, but the fish was between 3 and 4 pounds. most ive seen are .5 to a pound at most... got a small walter too. thats all though.

pickeral rig a good idea. i caught a 18lb2oz sturgon out of nsr just after may long weekend
