That is pretty much how it's been for me catfishing this year it's frustrating but it is a reminder that you are constantly on a quest for knowledge about the species you target and the skunkings are meant to be learning opportunities.

Slipbob is right about people overestimating weight sometimes, especially for skinny fish like walleyes and pike. The length throws them off I guess, because walleyes and pike are built like torpedos and have very little girth. A 23" walleye is usually about a 4 pounder, whereas a 23" rainbow trout is about a 5 1/2 pounder (sometimes even fatter browns), and a 23" pike is only about 3 pounds. (a 12" bluegill is nearly 3 pounds occasionally in the fall if they have been eating well all summer.)
The girth makes the weight of the fish, not the length.
Great walleyes slipbob, and that 10 pounder is out there lurking in your favorite lake. Keep working at it.

nice eyes, any yea 2 hours is tought to do, but if that is the time frame, got to go anyway. Going out to the Sac. res. next Friday and plan an all day trip, sun up to sun down, hoping to limit out, shouldn't be any reason way. Off to Speculator for the weekend and ohpe to get out on Sac. lake, tons of rockies and smallies, great fun.
See ya all after the 4th, and stay save.
Fish on!

2 hours is better than 0 hours, and anyway, for walleye, it's only about the last 45 minutes before sunset to 30 minutes after anyway. Your really not missing too much.
