Sorry, had to blow off some steam on this one.  Went bullhead fishing on the south shore of oneida Friday nite.  Wasnt getting any bites at my usual spot, so i decided to take a walk down to the county fishing area and throw a line in there.  Well, I get there, and start talking to a guy about the fish...the usual questions of anything biting, what are they bitin on, etc.  Anyway, the guy replies with "Yeah, I got a 24 inch pickerel an hour ago on a worm...I threw it up on shore."  Then after i left to go check my lines, I look down there and this idiot has a small fire going.  Seriously, I know pickerel can be a big nuisance to the other fish populations, but is it really necessary to do something like that when the fish is out of season?  Not sure, but i think the fines range somewhere between$250 and 500 a fish...someone correct me if i am wrong on this one for taking fish out of season.  Couldnt locate the # for the DEC tip line, bc talking to someone else that knows the guy, he does this crap with northerns too.  ***censored****.  Ok I am done.

Go back another day and see if he is there. If he is report him. People like that give all of us a bad name in the eyes of the politically correct anti hunting and fishing groups.

You'll bump into him again down there if he does do it all the time.
In a situation like I may amicably share my opinion. If you think that may start an arguement or he doesn't get it. Make a call.
A green shirt may be able to inform him a bit.

Great the guy with a big smile. Then make a call and sit in your truck. You may get a nice lil show. Dunno what kind of response you get when you make a call like that though.

probably coulda called the FD as well, cops would have come with them for the open burn.  From what I have gathered, its a hefty fine and i think its a misdemeanor now too.  Oh well, I'll call the squirrel cops in if i see him again.  Is it really too much to ask for people to be responsible adults?

i put the TIP DEC number in my cell last year. wish i had it a few times because i have been harassed at least 2-3 times fishing before.

It wouldnt be as irritating if the season were open, and honestly, what a person does with a fish after they land it is their concern.  As long as it is legal to keep!
