Kindred spirits, we are Trap ;D

Sausage on the grill, Keb Mo' on the player + a little Absolut and Ruby red in the Mason Jar ;D

I'm gonna go pester the bass and drum on the canal in the AM. My backyard stream was a total bust today. 4 hours of nothing.......nothing!

I think they all got swept downstream with the last big flood.

I like it. Simple, and as you said....lots of room for variations. I'd skip the mono eyes though. Those are for the fisherman, not the fish.

Hey RG. . . Last night at an auction I scored a Shakespeare Presidential Wonderod FY-920 7'-0 with the tube (label still on tube, too) for 17.50.  The sock is missing, but overall I'd have to give it a "Very Good" condition.  I've got a couple of questions for you.  Where might I find a replacement sock, or what material would it have been made from?  And how would you clean it (the rod) to maybe make it white (it's a little cream colored now) again?

I can't wait to match it up to a reel and line and try it.  It's light as a feather!  ;D  ;D  ;D
One more with the one we're after and we'll have two.

Had some fun with the bass on the fly this morning...

And then....this thing hit the clouser. I believe it to be the extremely rare "Rhinopikesaurus"

Never seen anything like it.

How would I clean that glass rod???
Very carefully!

Start with 50% Isopropyl alcohol and a soft cloth. Stay away from the wraps, they'll turn milky if they come in contact with the alcohol. Use a soft cloth to start and go to paper towel if more abrasion is needed. Step up to 91% if necessary. Dawn and hot water should clean up the grip. Alcohol will get out any deep stains.

Just go slowly!
