Some really neat stuff comming out of the big tradeshow called ICAST...
One that has me excited is the new Rapala X-Rap Countdown. The original x-rap is one of my favorite baits for casting for eyes. This bait will have a place for me when a little more depth is needed...

Thanks for the link, I will have some in my box also when they come out. Fish on

I did make the 80 mile trip on Tues. -- Son came with me, slow Tues. afternoon, found a spot on Shackleton shoal that gave us two nice "eyes" and a couple of perch, after a night at "Days Inn" hit the same spot yesterday AM.  Same spot and very successful, limited out by 10:30 with some big sunnies and one sheepie. Now these "eyes" were some of the best that I have boated on Oneida !! 17 to 22.5, most over 18.  All these were in great shape and with a good girth. Son, had a ball, he just retired after 27 years as a deputy sheriff and now has some time. A great trip to one of NY's finest bodies of water. Have a great summer anglers !! Retired ECO

Great job!  Hoping to head out tonight for the night bite.

Stupid question of the day; why do most of the sun fish look like they need some Preparation-H? :-X  Are these femails that are laying eggs? ???

fished last night from 6- 8:30 for the first trip to oneida

me and a buddy managed 2) 18"s out in 28 ft of water caught at the same time..

one was on a dropshot craw;er , the other was on a spinner off a bottom bouncer

fished around dutchmans island and shackleton point anywhere from 12- 36' trying bucktails , sonars , and spinners,

had a reason to bust out the filet knife so all is good! ;D
