thanks Aaron. had to work for em. but got 2 at least.  the top picture is a 17lb. the bottom is a 31lb. my 2nd best ever. weather was tough and water was very stained. it took a steady eye and some quick reaction time to get these.

Most of the females are not as fat.  The eggs are not quite developed in most of them yet.  I still have not seen much splashing in the real shallow yet.  I am seeing some here and there,  but there are usually 10 times more floating around.  They are not quite as spooky right now though.  I think next weekend will be crazy.

Maybe this is something i need to try for myself or see it done but im still not understanding. Yer shooting 10 fish a day and burying/burning em?? I no they aint good to eat but it just sounds like your makin work 4 yourself. Maybe it is fun tho idk, ive never done it. Im not sure its even legal here, but i also come from an area where "green carp" are one of the most targeted fish. So do u reel em in with a normal reel?? Try and take a video on your next trip out

it is more fun to me than any other hunting or fishing I have done.  there will be days that I shoot 50 and have to bury them.  I usually have a backhoe dig those holes for me, but for 10 fish it is easier to dig by hand.  It is well worth the work to me.  I do not reel them in although my set up has a reel on it.  I just pull the line in by hand.  90 percent of my shots are head shots so there is no fight.  I will try to get a video but you can see tons of videos on youtube if you search "bowfishing".

Many years ago Pine Tree use to have a weekend long carp shoot. Lots of shooters and hundreds of carp. They had the banquet at the old Adirondack Inn. My cousin and I won the kids division every year.. I still have a trophy for the "smallest" carp shot one year (12inches). bigworm, I see by your pictures you are shooting in some of our old spots....Good luck cleaning them out of there. We never did. Back then my Grandfather put them in his garden.....hunts2long

I let my brother shoot alot today.  I took 5 and he took the rest.  His third time out and third time shooting a bow and he has it down.  He is addicted now.  The females are just starting to float on the top now.
