Can't wait to get out in my boat for sure!  Perch, walleyes and then bass in that order.  Maybe throw in a few crappies in between.  I love NY!

I hadn't heard that. There have been years where they weren't sure who was going to run it or sponsor it in the past but they always got it done.

Man, thought I'd be the first one over here. Good to see you other Oneida guys over on this site. Wish you all full livewells and buckets this season.
Opinions are like @ssholes. Everybody has one and they all stink.

Any predictions on ice out?  I'm talking full open water, not the west end past the islands, the whole lake.

I'm going with April 17th.

I think it's still on.  They mailed me an entry form last week.  Also included was a note about a special additional prize this year of a Lake Ontario charter.

You guys got a lot of ice to be rid of for Mid-April.  I hoping to fish the walleye opener, through the ice, on Black Lake  ;D :o

I hope black lake isn't still froze around walleye/pike opener! I took the first week of may off and have a trip planned up to black lake.

Feel like im cheating but decided to come over here.
Think ice out will take longer than most.  8+" of white ice to insulate the black.
10-12" of black underneath.  With all the snow still to melt and temps warm but not that warm don't think runoff will warm the lake much to rot it that fast from the bottom up.
Think this years ice out will depend more on wind events smashing it, than temps melting it.

I was berated for fishing & asked recently by a PETA type.  You don't keep fish do you?  I responded "No I don't like aquariums. I just treat them like a quick haircut, & take a little of the sides"
