pictured  here  is a prime  example of one  just nearing the "ripe  " stage  the  white is  starting to show  well I personal  like  to wait till you have the  well defines  white  strip down the back as  well ....little note   get your  fish before the  gill plates get to bad  you want a  solid place to attach  your drag rope .....I can  tell this fiss is doomed  to be seen on a  Chinese  all you can eat buffet or  be found in a  fish taco
😂

this  fish  shows  perfect  coloration  easy to see  without  glasses and in low  light  conditions another  plus  is  often  parts fall off so  as  you  drag them  by the time  you get to the  truck they are  half cleaned  and  weigh less

now is the  time  the river  is full of  great  fish  just like  this  for  you!

we  really need  all of our  DEC  law  enforcement  at the  tribs and salmon  river to protect these  great fish! instead of  wasting  time catching the  double limit walleye  takers   and  deer poachers !!!!

I always found the meat to be most tender when they start turning white. Yumm Yumm.

Any news on the flows?  It still roaring?  I'm heading up the 8-13.  Boy do I know how to time a trip.  Highest flows so far this season and snow forecast every day I'm there.  Gotta love steelhead fishing.

Heading up there with my son Jeff tomorrow morning after bowling.
We have to prebowl because we will miss our Monday night league.
We have been in first but dropped to 3rd this past week.
(I had a very bad last 2 games)   :-\
Tight league.

Anyway, tomorrow we will probably just hit the river there in Altmar before dinner.
I may just sit in the hotel bar there and watch football.  lol
Staying at Shane's of course.
Monday we have a drift boat chartered with a friend of Jeff's who is a guide.
His name is Zach and we have gone with him the past 2 years.
He's really good and a super guy.
I'm sure some of you know him.
Works really hard for his money - that's for sure.
Looking forward to the trip with my boy.
The weather looks like it will be great.
No rain really in the forecast and above freezing temps so the rod guides won't be freezing up on us.
