nice fish pasquatch, do you eat the pumpkinseeds?
Not from my pond, the number of throwbacks per keeper is insane, although its getting better every year. They're very tasty fish.

Well I found an odd little tumor like growth on a few of the pumpkinseeds today, I was wondering what you guys think it is.

Here's one, the pics not good, its the white growth near the base of the fin.

Smallest bass I've ever caught! ;D

And three nice seeds, the first two were just over 8", and the last one was just over 10.

nice pics Pasquatch!
Oh Lord - there he is, it feels like a big one, please don\'t let me lose him, I\'ve never caught one this big before.  I\'ll try not to horse him, and if I land him, I promise to release him, and make a graphite replica, if my wife says it\'s ok.  Thank you for the Rapalas...

It looks like a fungus.  Sometimes when I buy shiners (bass minnows) some of them have a similar slimy fungus on them, always on their tail or on their fins.

Its on some of their gill opercles and rakers too, it is very squishy and slimy.

Looks like yellow grub to me. Next time you get one with it take your jacknife and cut the "growth"open Id bet a fishin trip that there will be a grub inside.   If so its harmless,  although not great to look at.   Yellow grub is a digenetic trematode that has several life stages and has several hosts, fish being one and snails and fish eating birds generally being the other two.  Hard to tell from the pics but I think Big Red is right, Parasite.

Caught a TON of fish today on a small inline spinner, including 18 bass, up to 16 inches.

Here's some.

I'll second that.  If you take some home for the frying pan you'll probably find a couple in the meat.  There little white grubs.  I ran into them for the first time this weekend in a couple of pumpkinseed and bluegill that we caught.
