Nice day man, that photo takes me back to my days of upland bird hunting. Pheasant, grouse, woodcock and a duck or 2 if you walked along a stream or pond. My Irish setter Casey flushed them all and fetched them too; but only fetched 1 woodcock! After that, he'd flush them up; but would never pick 1 up again. Weird, must be he didn't like the taste of them. Silly dog, he was the best bird dog I ever had the pleasure of owning. Bought him as a pup for $25 from a friend who's dad raised and hunted them. The good ole days.  :thumbup_smilie:

I do not think I could ever go without a dog. More specifically, I love German Shorthaired Pointers. I own 3 now, and already put 2 down. Intelligent, hard working, always willing to please, amazing in the field and even better as family dogs..... though they think they are lap dogs. Memories that cannot be justified with words.

This is Raven the day after giving birth to 8 healthy puppies.

Jaeger my top bird dog

And Tuukka - the devil spawn of the above 2. lol

I had to post a pic of my dog Casey w/3 grouse and a rabbit my buddy shot near Fair Haven around 1979.

We love our dogs that's for sure!!!   And our dogs love us more...even than our spouses!

Lock you dog and you wife in the trunk of the car for an hour and tell which one is happy to see you when you let them back out???!!!

Sorry Scout.....wouldn't trade Grouse breasts for anything.....even if i could they are gone too fast!!

In my case, who would they bust the windows for first, the dog or the wife!

Congrats Bruce!  I saw 3 this evening on watch with my bow but didnít shoot. Only one that came into range was a button buck. This guy has been in the area where my stand is. Hoping to cross paths with him soon.
