Finally!!!!

Well after several years of going to the Salmon River I finally successfully landed a steelhead.  I've hooked and fought several but had never actually landed one but this was finally the year.  My cousin who has the same history with steelies also got one in the witching hours of our last day as well.  We fished in flows from anywhere from high 700s down into the low 300s.  The weather/water conditions seemed perfect and we saw a lot of fish landed.  As a group we ended up with 6 landed and several other hook ups.  Those fish sure are strong and fast.  After landing some great stripers in the canal this summer it is hard to say which fish I'd rather pursue.

Very cool.  Buddy is there now.  Was trying to get me to go Friday...I haven't landed one either but didnt try.  What did it eat?

It varied by day but overall we had the best luck with egg sucking leech patterns.
