I thought I'd take advantage . . .
« on: Nov 24, 2017, 02:57 PM »
. . . of the day off and relatively nice weather (sunny, blue skies, 47 degrees), so, after doing some Christmas shopping, I headed south for an hour or so of fishing.

I started on the West Housatonic in Pittsfield, where I caught a decent 13" rainbow under the Clapp Park trestle.

Then I hopped on Route 9 and drove east to Dalton, where I fished the East Housatonic below the Housatonic Street bridge and landed a nice hefty 15" brown.

Yes, I caught my only keeper-sized pike to date (although I ended up releaingd it) a few years ago at Woods Pond, which is really just a backwater of the Main Branch of the Housatonic.
