Looking into buying a pair of new trolling rigs. On a casting platform. Any recommendations? Without breaking the bank!

Don’t buy the Cabelas line counter combos. The drags are junk and need reworking.
When you pay for the rework you are at same price as Okuma reels.
Get the Okuma reels and select a combo with a good 8-8.5’ medium to medium light rod.

X2 on Mac’s suggestions. I personally stay in the midrange with Okuma Coldwater 15-20 size on Talora rods but you can go cheaper or more expensive based on your budget.

As for downrigger rods I like the okuma blue diamond rods and the Magda reels. They are cheap and get the job done. As for board/crank rods I like the okuma GLT trolling rods with Diawa depth masters and braid. I keep it relatively cheap.

I use mr walleye 8.5’ medium telescoping rods , they shrink down to 7’ with Diawa sealine 17s , they are now about 12 years old I use them with inline boards
