iceman, that's one of the worse feelings you can get, losing fish after a battle. At least you found some that were hungry. More spots for you next year to keep in mind............

Piscesman I have all the good spots marked on my helix 7 will try them next year. Nothing quite like jig fishing feeling that tug when you lift your rod is about as exciting as it can get. With all the rain today maybe we can get another trip in this week. Hate to see the boat go in the garage for the winter. Ice season will be upon us soon, I don’t seem to get as excited about it as I used to. My old bones don’t handle the cold as well as I did when I was younger.

Same here for ice fishing. Never went out last year. New pup and not motivated. The walleye we catch in open water has to last us until next year. Usually, 1 meal a month the way it works out. I don't pay attention to their recommendations........

The rain we got has brought the lake up over a FOOT. I am sure it cooled it off some. I will check out the dock at the launch later...h2l

With all this rain the launch in northville might be usable now, might have to try again this week. H2l let us know if the launch is usable.

Fished the lake today, not very productive, caught 1 short walleye and 4 rock bass. Last trip of the year, boat is winterized will put it in the garage till next spring. H2l see you in the spring have a great hunting season.

Well, at least you were able to get out and didn't get skunked. My cousin called last night, he had talked to Dave that runs the charter here on the lake. His fish count for the year was about 200 trout and just over 700 walleyes. Dave was out last week and had one of the biggest pike he has ever seen, on for 45 minutes before it broke off. He said it had to be well over 50 inches. Biggest I ever saw was 52".
Not sure if I am hunting this weekend, leaves are still pretty thick, but I will get out a couple days next week....h2l
