I haven't fished evening in some time. I usually am on the water before 7am fish until 1 or 2. Mid day as always been good to me but I usually fish deeper water....h2l

My opinion early mornings the fish seem to spread out a bit then around 8-9am they start to school up on breaks to deeper water. Night time bites were good for me last year but this year seems the morning bite is more productive

BBB, that is just about my game plan, start searching early (move often), once I start seeing groups of fish work them over. Work my way down the lake and then hit the spots heading back to the launch. Many days the early morning spots that didn't produce have resulted in a phone call to wife to tell her I may be later than planned OR, go get me a couple dozen of worms. I haven't had one of those days let this year....h2l

Anytime on the water is a good time, 7 till noon works good for me. Like to get off the lake when it gets hot. Lately I troll bottom bouncers early in shallow water13 to 16 ft. Then move out to deep water and find fish to jig. Haven’t been seeing the schools of fish like past years.

Fished gsl this morning caught 1 walleye trolling bottom bouncers, a smallmouth, made two more passes with no hits. Went out to deeper water and found a pod of fish in 28 ft. of water. Between me and my cousin we jigged up 5 more walleyes and three more bass. Only one keeper walleye in the bunch, bass all went back. H2l we plan on fishing Thursday if weather permits.

H2lyou are right about the weather, if tomorrow is rained out will go Friday instead. Last trip we found a few pods of fish out deep. Still not seeing big pods of bait.

Got out this morning later than normal felt nice to sleep in till 7. Got to the lake around 8, ended up with 5 keepers by 11 then took the boy up to mosquito bay to play in the water for a little bit. Probably could’ve got a few more but it was getting hot

What size jig, color and "Mr. Twister" do you use. Going to try and jig to improve my odds. PM would be fine if concerned about sensitive info. TIA.

BBB, way TOO hot for me to be fishing. Next week is starting to look good. Good monring of fishing.

Iceman, OUCH, that had to hurt. Seems like you can catch fish once you find them.

Piscesman, I am using either 1/4 or 3/8 oz jig depending on the wind. Black with a little blue, a black/yellow and a perch colored jig. Tipped with a worm. Last year the black/blue was the ticket, this year I haven't really fished enough to know if there is a HOT color....h2l

My cousin called yesterday, he had talked to Dave that use to run the bait shop. Dave got his "guides" license and has had a lot of business. Dave knows this lake and can catch a lot of fish, any way he had 3 guys out one day last week, trolled ALL day and not a single fish. He had them come back the next day (for free) 11 walleyes in the boat. You never know.
