Fishogger and I wanted to try under the light of Full Moon other night, water temps mid 80's (bath water) was a tough bite. Had to work for everyone. Fish weren't biting as good as the skeeters that's for sure.

that is a cool pic HFH!

i don't know if you can see it from this pic but the males still have some colors on yet.  some of the females still had eggs in them.

even if you click picture and blow it up you still cant really see the darkness on them.  its there though.

Tim as I thin out the females bluegills in one of my ponds many are packed with eggs getting ready for another spawn.

Not that I know of but I did read an article once that said it was possible. Said something about the females spawning in spurts over a period of time.

I got a spawn of crappies in one of my ponds a lot later than typical. I think I saw the fry in late June and they couldn't have been more than a week old.

Not all fish of a species spawn at the same time and if spawning conditions aren't right as in water temperature they can and will reabsorb their eggs.

that 4 letter word is taking up all my fishing time the last few days.  no work today so i shot out at dawn to try jigging up some crappie.  i found the water high and very muddy.  had about 2" visibility.  being that it was high i started at shore in the cover.  first couple spots were not what i was looking for and housing8- 10" runts.  after some searching with the vex i found what i was after.  they weren't on fire but i did have some fun. also nothing over 14" but i lost one at the boat that could have been around that mark.

anyhow here is the proof. ;D

these fish were caught in 6fow about 3ft down.  bobby garland baby shad plastic with shad spray on it.  they wanted it swimming sideways or setting still.  couldn't get them to hit it vertically jigged up and down.  bright color(don't know the name) but i don't think color would have mattered in that mud. lol

me and HFH are pulling the night shift for eyes again tonight.  hope to have some more fishporn, to post,  in a day or two.

You say you used your vex for locating. Any special attachment for open water use. I want to get more use from mine other than a month or so on the ice.

I zip tied it to a 3/4x1/2 stick and clamped it to my transom.  it is just above the bottom of boat so slower speed looking in prime spots only.

BigR, Take your vex out night fishing.  Throw some underwater lights out, hang a lantern over the side of the boat, bring your ice gear, pick a night when it's calm, and have a ball.
